I am a freelance product designer / design engineer based in the North West of England. Graduating from Coventry University in 1995 with a degree in Industrial Product Design, I began my career as a mechanical design draughtsman, then in 1999 my career path changed when I started working as a product designer in the highly creative children’s play sector.

To this day I still work within the play industry creating realistic rendered images of new products and play schemes. Other creative work undertaken has included designing exhibition stands, retail merchandising units and illustrations for technical literature. In 2008 I further developed my engineering skills, working on products as varied and diverse as automatic rising bollards, hydraulic cylinders and perimeter security systems for the Olympic Games.

Having worked in both design and engineering, I find the experience gained invaluable. It gives me a tremendous breadth of knowledge to draw upon when working on any given product or project.

I became a Certified SolidWorks Professional in 2009, specialising in 3D modeling, rendering and draughting.
